For the first couple days put 1/4 Cranberry juice or Apple juice to 3/4 water. This will help your new Chinchillas for sale drink their water. Let your Chin take a bath as soon as you get home with them, this will relax and make them happy.

Let your Chinchillas for sale get use to their new home, Let them be for the first 3 to 4 days. You can go up to Chinchillas for sale in the cage, and talk to them. But don’t try to take them out. let run. They really need to get use to their new cage, and your home, nosies, and so on. After the 4 days you can start putting in your hand so chinchillas for sale can come up to you and smell you and learn to trust you.

* Morning Feeding - 1/8 cup feed, handful of Fresh hay, fresh clean water. (Clean up hay from the night before)

* Night Feeding – 1/4 cup feed, handful of Fresh hay, piece of hay cube, check water

Clean feeding dish chinchillas for sale and give fresh water every day or every other, Always throw a way uneaten food, do not reuse feed that is left from the night before. Chins like to sit in their food dishes, and could go to the bathroom in it. If you noticed that there is a lot of feed left the next morning, then reduce feed, and if there is nothing left, increase feed. Use only good quality feed chinchillas for sale, like Pen Pal, Hubbard Traditions, Mazuri, Oxbow, or Purina Advanced Rabbit feed.

I sell and use Pen Pal, This is used by a lot of pet people and breeders chinchillas for sale through out the US. The other feeds that you can get from the pet stores, with nuts, seed or colored pieces, is not health for you chin, they will not get all the nutrients that they need. With in a 6 to a year your chinchillas for sale Health will be very poor and he or she may start to get sick a lot, be under weight. Teeth health will be low, and may start to see teeth issue’s. So it’s better to stay with what the breeder uses, plus the cost is less if you buy chinchillas for sale from a breeder than a pet store, or find a breeder in your area that you can buy feed and supplies from, or order online, or use Mazuri that you can find at a pet store. A Vet will cost you more in the long run than buying good quality feed and supplies.

Use all purified water, or bottled. Water from the tap or well water can have some things in it that can cause digestive problems chinchillas for sale. Plus if your chin doesn’t like the taste they wont drink like the should. You can wash the water bottle in a dishwasher or wash by hand. You need to wash the bottles as least 2 to 3 times a week, you don’t want the water to get stagnate, or start to grow mold, this can make your chinchillas for sale very sick or death.

Treats chinchillas for sale – I suggest only giving dried Cranberries, dried Cherries, Dried Blueberries, and dried Rosehips. No sugar with these. Horse cookies are fine to, get ones with the least amount of ingredients in it. Wait until your chin is at least 6 months old before giving treats. Give treats only about 2 to 3 times a week and for horse treats about every 2 weeks. I give my chinnies, dried, cranberry’s, blueberries, and Cherry’s, plus some herbs and my Grain Herb Cookies.

If you see your chinchillas for sale getting wet poops or ones that are smashed or diarrhea, stop all treats and feed, give shredded wheat, or very burnt toast, with Acidophilus, give 3 times a day, for a couple days, or until clears up, and give Kao-pectin 2cc or mls, 3 times a day for 2 days, if it doesn’t clear up with 3 days take your chin to the Vet. Have them do a poop test. Keep fresh clean hay in their cage with them and fresh clean water. Some chinchillas for sale will get this the first week in their new home.

If you see a runny nose, eyes, heavy breathing, take your chin to the vet, they may have some respiratory illness going on. Do Not wait tell the next day, chinchillas for sale hide there illness very will and sad to say your chin could die the next day.

I always recommend that you watch your chin keep a diary on them, see how they act, so when something is out of place for them you will catch it fast. Chinchillas for sale hide illness very well.

Chewing – Chinchillas for sale always need to chew, give them wood or toys to chew on. their teeth are always growing, so they need to Chew. No plastic or cotton ropes. Their Teeth can grow about 1″ a month.

Baths, if you live in area where it is more Humidity you will need to increase the baths, dry areas 2 to 3 times a week, Humid area’s 3 to 5 times a week. You strain out the poops with a fine strainer and replace dust every 5 to 6 weeks, if your chin pees in it you need to throw it out. A tip, let your chin take their bath in the shower stall, this will keep the dust contained, then just rinse down the walls with the shower.

No Fabric, Except Fleece.

Your chinchillas for sale need fresh air, not a fan or window blowing directly on them. No direct Sun Light, chins can over heat very fast and die from heat stroke.

Chinchillas for sale are loving caring animals, and are very curious. don’t try to make your chin do things that they are not ready for, this will stress them out, and make them more timid, and will take longer for them to trust you.

When you first bring your chinchillas for sale home, put your hand in the cage and let them come to you and smell your hand they may nibble at it, let them do this a few times, then try to rub their chin or ears, if they back off, then just let them smell your hands and arms, they will learn to trust you and know that you are not out to harm them. A little time goes a long way. Remember chinchillas for sale are not much on being held and cuddled like dogs and cats.

Chinchillas are generally nocturnal (up at night time), this is something to remember when wanting a Chinchilla. Chinchillas as Pets can make great pets with the proper care. Though for young children they do not make for a good pet. Chinchillas as pets can be skittish, don’t like really like to be held, though they do like to jump on you, if your sitting still, and they like their ears and chin rubbed. Chinchillas as pets have delicate bones, that can break very easy, Females seem to be more territorial than males. We like to see chinchillas going in pairs, they will be healthier, happier, and live longer. (imagine! you all by your self for the rest of your life, Chins like to live in colonies or small groups). Males seem to do better together than females, as said they are more territorial. though it can be done.

Chinchillas as pets are very intelligent, they can be taught to come out on your hand, arms or shoulder, with patience and practice. By putting your hand in their cage, let them come to you, be very still, and call their name. Don’t try to rush this, it will only scary them and it will take longer for them to trust you and to learn. Keep you hand in the cage, once chinchillas as pets put their hand on yours they will slowly walk up your arm, there you can take them out of the cage. If they try to run by you to get out, push them back softly, and put your hand back out. should they try to run out again, close the cage door, and come back in 10 to 15 minutes. and try all over again, once they learn this, that they know if they go on your hand, arm or shoulder, they can get out of their cage, or get a treat.. Remember each chin is different, they have their own personality and temperament. Don’t try to chase your chin when there in their cage or out, this can really scare them, and cause then to be fearfully of you. if your chinchillas as pets gets out of their cage, and you need to get them back in their cage, either put their dust bath out, most of the time they will came running for it. Then pick up the dust bath with them in it and put them back in the cage. Or as a last resort, get a sheet, and throw it over them and then scoop them up in the sheet and put them back in the cage, chinchillas as pets wont see you and they will be back in their cage, thinking what just happened.

Chinchillas as pets can live up to 20 years ( this is another thing to remember when thinking of getting a Chinchilla, will they be able to move were you move.) Depending were you live and the conditions and diet you give your Chinchilla, normal its 10 to 15 years. I believe for a pet chinchilla, that their cage be as large as your budget allows, with many ledges, boxes (homes) and perches. Plenty of room for them to jump and bounce around. NO wire ledges or latter’s, if your cage come with wire ledges, ramps or latter’s. Take them out. and replace with wood. Their feet, arms and toes, can get caught in the wire and could cause broken bones. Exercise wheels are wonderful for chinchillas as pets, Note, get the size 15″ or larger, if its to small, they could hurt their backs and legs, solid metal is the best. No wire wheels. I have found for cages and wheels, go to Chinchillas as pets and the chin spin is a great wheel to have, it will last a life time for a chin or more.

Chinchillas as pets can get hot very fast. Which is very dangerous. They can not sweat, which makes them prone to overheating. A very warm chinchilla can show signs of having very warm to hot feet, visible veins in ears, and lethargy (not moving) this could lead to death very fast. If you See signs of this, cool down the room, put a frozen water bottle raped in a towel or paper towel and place it by your chin, put a few drops of cool water on their lips this may make them lick their lips. Place a cold piece of marble or granite and lay your chin on this. You need to do these things quickly to get your chins temperature back down. Keep the air circulating in the room. but not directly on them. No drafts from windows or fans or heating and cooling vents. This can cause colds or respiratory problems. Do not place your chinchillas as pets cage in front of a window where direct sunlight can hit them, door ways or heating and cooling vents. Temperature should between 60 to 75 Degrees, try not to let it get any higher than that, if your house or room does get hotter, place the marble and frozen bottles in their cage, to keep them cool. Marble and Granite you can get a Home Depot or any other store like this. Never use a BALL with a chinchilla, the temperature can go up another 10 to 20 degrees high than room temperature.

So you want to adopt a chinchilla? That’s great news! Here’s a helpful list of chinchilla supplies regarding what you may want to consider purchasing for your chin. All of the chinchilla supplies mentioned here are items that we use here at our site.

1. Your chin’s cage and what should be found inside.
These cages are construced of 1/2″ x 1″ galvanized-after wire. Balconies and middle floors are construced out of untreated pine which keeps little chinny feet and legs from getting caught and broken. Make sure that there are multiple levels in the cage you choose for your chinchilla; they like to leap.

2. Ceramic Food Bowls chinchilla supplies – Small round bowls are best, one for plain chinchilla pellets and one for fresh vegetables if you choose. No plastic bowls; your chin will chew them and ingest the plastic.

3. Ceramic Half-Covered Dome Dishes chinchilla supplies – These dishes are made by Super Pet and are exactly what they sound like. They are perfect containers for stuffing hay and a safe substitute for the wire hay rack on which a chinchilla can get seriously hurt.

4. Wooden Chin House or Chin Box chinchilla supplies – Chins naturally like to hide when they sleep; this is one of the most important things to keep in your chin’s cage. Try not to buy a house that is constructed using nails or bolts. Our site sells wooden “chin boxes” which are construced using FDA approved non-toxic glue and wooden biscuits.

5. CareFresh or Total Comfort Bedding chinchilla supplies – These two brands are the safest for your chins respiratory system. Kiln dried pine is okay too but we suggest that you stick with these two products.

6. Leapin’ Ledges chinchilla supplies – As mentioned before, chins like to leap and jump. These ledges are construced out of untreated wood and can be screwed onto the side of your chin’s cage. Sleepin’ Ledges can also be found at chinchilla supplies or your local pet shop – these ledges are a larger version of the Leapin’ Ledges so that your chin can spread out and sleep.

7. Wooden Chewing Toys chinchilla supplies – Chins have incisors which are constantly growing; therefore, it’s important for them to always have something to chew on. Most wooden chew toys found in pet stores are suitable for chins. “Lava Bites”, “Chew Stuff”, and “Bunny Bites” are all examples of suitable chewing toys for your chin.

8. Water Bottle chinchilla supplies – 28 oz. is the best size. Make sure to change the water every day so it does not get stagnant.

9. Running Wheel chinchilla supplies – It is important for your chin to get exercise and a wheel also prevents boredom when you’re not around to play. DO NOT buy a wheel with spokes! Little chinny feet and legs can get caught and breakage can occur. Again, chinchilla supplies is the best place to buy a wheel. Their 14″ Ed Exercise Wheel is a safe wheel for your chin; it’s a bit pricey, but worth it. It’s important that you get your chinchilla out to play at least once a day. Not only is it a good way for you to bond with your chin, but mentally it’s important that your chin have some time to blow off steam.

We at chinchilla supplies recommend that you let your chin out twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. This is difficult for most working chinchilla parents and we understand this. Optimal running time is in the evening around 9:00 PM.

Most of us do not have chin-proofed rooms in our homes and that’s why we recommend a play gate. Normally these are gates that you can find for dogs and cats and now I’ve even seen them for ferrets. Whatever type of gate you can get so that it forms an inclosed area is fine. Make sure that the openings in the gate are not large enough for your chin to slip through. Remember, it’s likely that if the head can squeeze through, so can the rest of the body. Ferret gates are probably the best choice. Set it up and fill it with toys. Old chinchilla supplies, a home made wooden jungle gym and don’t forget to add yourself. We here at chinchilla supplies have found that the best jungle gym is the human body! Play Time!

This is an example of a play gate that we set up here at chinchilla supplies for when our chins need a quick romp. (For longer romps, we like to provide them with a larger area.) Inside the gate is just a plain ceramic jar, a cardboard play house and a straw basket. Where did I find that neat basket you may ask? Ikea my friends. Yes, you can find chinchilla supplies for your chin almost anywhere!

Here at chinchilla prices we take our rescues and our adoptions Very seriously. On this page, you will find a complete listing of what is required of someone requesting the services of our rescue, as well as a complete listing of what is required of a prospective chinchilla prices.

If you require the services of our chinchilla prices rescue we ask that you take the following points into consideration:

chinchilla prices requires a surrender fee of
anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00. This fee is
based on the fact that we need to buy supplies
and provide medical care to ALL of our new
rescues. The amount of the surrender fee will
be determined by chinchilla prices and will be
dependent upon the following:
* How far we are required to travel.
* How many chins are being surrendered.
* The physical condition of the chinchilla.
(ex: is the chin sick / does it have any
special needs, etc.)

Please be advised that all adopters will be required to sign his/her name to the above agreements upon adoption for chinchilla prices.

At chinchilla prices we charge an adoption fee which ranges from $50.00 to $200.00. Here are the reasons why:

1) We feel that if you’re not willing to invest money into your chinchilla then you may not be serious about adopting and caring for one of our chins. We pride ourselves in taking very special care in housing each of our chinchillas for chinchilla prices; we do not want a rescued chin to have to be re-rescued from an adoption gone bad. By acknowledging and agreeing to our fee, you are letting us know that your new chinchilla is not disposable and that you’re serious about supporting your chin and the chinchilla prices.

2) Rescue and chinchilla prices is not a cheap business. It costs money to feed and house chinchillas. It takes money to keep up with a website, it takes money to make business cards, it takes money to go out of state to save chinchillas, it takes money for good medical care, and it takes money to rescue neglected chinchillas from bad pet shops. You get the chinchilla prices. We’re not looking to turn a profit here at site. We’re just trying to make sure that we can take care of our chinchillas in the best way possible. Unfortunatly, it takes chinchilla prices for us to be able to do this. At your average pet shop, you will pay somewhere between $100.00 and $300.00 for a chinchilla. We feel that our fees are more than fair for a chinchilla prices who has been rescued and who has received medical care. We are confident that as a prospective chin parent that you will understand.

The Adoption Form & Veterinary Consent Form

Our adoption questionnaire here at chinchilla prices is pretty self explanatory and straight forward. The questionnaire is a way for us to get to know you better. We ask about your current pet situation, your knowledge of chinchilla prices, your current home situation, etc. We also ask that you supply us with personal refrences.
If you are interested in obtaining a copy of our adoption questionnaire, please email us.

Our veterinary consent form is a one page chinchilla prices that requires that you obtain a signature from a licensed veterinarian who is willing, qualified and able to take care of your chinchilla. That is to say that he/she is qualified to take care of exotic pets.
We at chinchilla prices understand that it is sometimes difficult to find a veterinarian who has experience with exotic pets, but it is extremely important that your chin be exposed to the correct type of care. This form MUST be completed in full before the adoption process can be finalized.
Again, if you are interested in obtaining a copy of our veterinary consent form, please email us.

Chinchilla – one of the original fur-bearing animals with unique color of hair, long very highly valued. There are two types of chinchilla pictures: chinchilla short-tailed and long-tailed chinchilla. Belongs to the chinchilla to the generation of chins, to the family of chins, is a close relative of a Guinea pig.

Outwardly chinchilla reminds of a small rabbit. The beast has a strong body structure, the rounded form of the head, short neck. Regarding the long tail is covered with hairs. In healthy animals easily screwed up chinchilla pictures. Hind legs end in 4-dimensional fingers, 3 of which are turned forward, and the fourth (twice shorter than the back. Front legs are a little shorter than the rear, have 4 functional fingers, and one rarely used chinchilla pictures. Ears are rounded shape. Chinchilla has different coloring of fur – from dark on the back with a smooth transition to the blue-grey on the sides to a snow-white on the belly. Extraordinary tenderness and beauty of fur served as the reason of high prices on products from fur chinchilla pictures. At the present time the price for the coat of fur chinchillas can be from 10 up to 100 thousand dollars, depending on the quantity and quality of the skins used for its manufacturing. But not only the quality chinchilla pictures of the fur caused the high price.

A pleasant and extremely silky to the touch, velvet on view – fur. The length of the pile 2-2,5 cm, on 1 cm2 of the surface of the skin there are 20-25 thousand hairs, because of the density of the fur animal and looks like velvet. Due to the density of the animal chinchilla pictures makes the severe climate conditions, where they are found in nature – it is in the mountains of Chile, Peru, at an altitude of from 2000 to 4000 meters above sea level, in the crevices of the rocks, where the hot winds.

The chinchilla no sweat and sebaceous glands so she has no smell chinchilla pictures. Even feces and urine at this animal does not have such sharp characteristic smell like rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters and other Pets. As a result of litter or toilet chinchilla change not more frequently than once a week.

The chinchilla there is a seasonal moult, so this is the animal. These animals can reject chinchilla pictures individual hairs and even tufts of fur only as a result of stress or excitement – it is their protective function, for example: in an attack on a chinchilla of a predator, in his teeth will remain only a bundle of furs, and the chinchilla, brushing the fur, hiding in the shelter.

The chinchilla always clean fur, although it should not be washed in water. She bathed in a special fine sand, and in the natural conditions in the volcanic dust. When bathing she gets rid of moisture, which absorbs her fur from the external environment chinchilla pictures, or from our hands when we hold or stroked her. Also in these animals is not fleas and ticks, as they simply can’t live in this dense undercoat.

Chinchillas do not bite a human, because have a high enough intelligence, although they have very sharp incisors, and if the only animal feels aggression, or danger on the part of the person chinchilla pictures or of any animal, he may bite or nibble, but at first did not hurt, as if to warn that the next time will be more painful.

Chinchillas do not scratch since they have no claws, and there are nails, which they themselves and, therefore, they have soft delicate “handle”. Only on the hind legs marigolds more rude.

Life expectancy chinchilla pictures in the nature of up to 35 years, and in the home life expectancy depends on the correct diet and natural factors of a place or region in which they live chinchilla. Our most senior chins to 14 years of age and females still bring us a seed.

Chinchilla respond well to training and education, but they cannot be treated. Because it is like children – what to invest, what you get chinchilla pictures. And rehabilitate it is very difficult, but still possible, if you know how to do it.

Feed chinchilla in the home should be only once a day. She eats for a day 1-2 tablespoons of special dry food and drinks as well as (simple boiled cold water, which is poured into a special horse trough).

Make it easy chinchillas to the soul or to engage seriously in their breeding – everyone decides for chinchilla pictures himself. But in any case the pleasure of communicating with these nice chins you will be guaranteed.

The rear view of Scooter, Speedy G. and Smokey – this is amazing chinchilla names. They were either VERY tired or trying to reenact a scene from the Blair Witch!
A great chinchilla names is our little Norrington! We’re pretty sure that he’s not possessed by the devil in this shot, but one can never be too sure! Norrington is a permanent resident here at chinchilla names page.

A view from inside the entrance of chinchilla names. We make sure that our chins get plenty of light during the day without direct exposure.
Here he is! Our sweet Monty! Take a look at his left front paw – this is the malformed leg, a result of the break that went untreated.
Here’s our own Morgan, or as we call him here at chinchilla names, Big Moo. Notice the rip out of his left ear and check out his little front paws, notice how it appears that he has missing toes. Well, that’s because unfortunatly, he does.

This is Chili – a beautiful looking boy. No visual signs of abuse but here we can see him perched on one of his ledges in the far corner of his cage. He’s still quite terrified of people, no doubt a result of being swung by his tail.

This is a great chinchilla names of Creedy, Chili’s brother. Or as we call him here at chinchilla names page, Big-Nosed Bup. Here he is hanging out in his wheel, which sometimes doubles up as a bed for him. He’s a very friendly boy now after being abused at a pet shop. Don’t think about sticking your arm inside his cage though to grab at him, it brings back a lot of stress of his younger days.

Ah yes, our resident alpha female. This is Rin, otherwise known as ‘the spider monkey’ for her crazy antics. Rin was not a rescue. What can I say about this girl, except that she’s our comic relief!

This is Gabby, Kristy’s wild little rescue. Gabby came from a pet store where she was neglected and obviously very unhappy. Now she’s a little spit-fire who can spray a person with pin-point precision from across the room! ) We love this girl anyway and who wouldn’t? I mean, just look at this chinchilla names!
Is this a happy chin, or what?! Here is our big girl, Rin, getting a little chin-chin rub which she obviously just LOVES!
Here’s a shot of our own Rin…the way she uses her hammock you would think she’s a ferret!

Taking a fashon tip from Winky-Roo, Grey sports his own no-bite collar. This poor little guy hurt his tail and just doesn’t know enough to leave it alone, hence – the no-bite collar. Needless to say, he’s not the happiest chin on the block right now.
In preparation for my wedding, I took it upon myself to take on the task of folding 1,000 origami cranes. Here we can see our friend, Jin, trying his best to help me out…or, er, is he just trying to bite the head off?

So on February 17th 2012, I married my long-time sweetheart, Corey. Of course I had to have a picture taken with Monty before the big event! Now the two of us have a formal portrait together! Awww…

Here we can see a very inquisitive Monty checking out his downstairs neighbor. Careful Monty, you know how Buddy gets!
just had to post this chinchilla names of Chili on the website! Have you ever seen a chinchilla look more like a bat…or Yoda for that matter??
Here is Grey showing us that yes, he can go without his collar for a minute or two before biting at his tail. These moments are always very short lived however. Grey is currently wearing a much smaller collar for the winter, showing us that ‘less is more’ for the winter season trends.
Here’s a shot of our friends, Zoe and Juju! These two beautiful chins live with our friend, Kerry, who has been doing a lot of great work with us here at the rescue!

Keeping Pairs Males are normally better for pairing together as pets. Chinchilla lifespan as long as they have their own space, their own house to sleep in or get away from the their chin, to have their own chinchilla lifespan. even if you see that they are always by each other side. Still keep 2 or 3 house in their cage. You can use hammocks or tunnels with the houses. Females can go into pairs but they are more territorial and need more space for them selfs. though it can be done. Remember Chins do better in pairs. Its always best, to do this when they are young, and the best time is when you get a chinchilla, get both at the same time. When a chinchilla gets older they get set in their ways and it may harder or impossible to put another chinchilla with them. Plus its a process to put them together. You have to slowly, put them together. By putting their cages side by side for a couple weeks, then slowly introduce them in a very small area, and watch them very closely, make sure no fur is flying or biting where you see blood, if you do see this, put them back in their own cages and try again in a couple days.

Chinchilla lifespan if all goes well, clean the cage that you will be using for the both of them. From top to bottom. with vinegar, all wood, spray down and let sit for at least 10 to 15 mins the rinse clean, the same with all wire and pan, then rinse very well and put new bedding in, or you can replace all wood with new wood. So all the smell is gone and its neutral to both chinchillas. put them both in the cage and watch and see how it goes, if they are doing good, Great! still keep a close eye on them. if fighting starts take out the old chin and put him in the other cage, and try again the next day. I have found that taking out the old chin works better. What I have found that works really good, is bring your old chin with you to pick up the new chin, and the ride home will help them bond to each other, but only do this if you get them from the same breeder. and do the same with the cage, so the smell of the cage is neutral. Should you get your chin from another breeder or pet store. Chinchilla lifespan you need to quarantine the new chinchilla for at least 4 weeks, just in case they are sick or carrying something. You need to keep the new chinchilla in a different room. After the 4 weeks if your new chinchillas is showing no signs of being sick. Then you can start working them together.

Bedding

Never use Cedar, the fumes are to Strong and toxic for chinchilla lifespan. Plus the oil is harmful, it contains a substance called Phenols. Pine or Aspen shavings work well, it needs to say that it is Kiln Dried (KD) the same for wood in their cages. Try to get coarse cut bedding, to fine of shavings can cause breathing problems. Bedding should be changed weekly, you can scoop out the are where they pee daily or so. I use a product called Sweet PDZ that really keeps the urine smell down. (I all so sell this). I really don’t recommend Carefresh either since the chinchillas will chew on this and it is made of recycled paper and can get lodged in their digestive track.

Treats

Treats should be limited for chinchilla lifespan, I give dried Cranberry, Blueberry, Bing Cherry’s, I only give these about every 2 weeks. Rose hips, some herbs, once a week, Shredded (No Frosting), Wood pieces,. To many Treats can upset the digestive track, they may not want to eat their feed, and could cause fatty liver, Vets are seeing this more with chinchillas, do to pet people loving their chin to death. The fat builds up on their livers, and cause many problems, signs are water eyes, Respiratory problem, not eating, dehydration, and then causing the death of your Chinchillas. Most people wont even realize this unless they have a narcolepsy done on their chin to see why they have passed, they may just think they have a cold or phenomena, or teeth. And they get the wrong treatment for chinchilla lifespan.

This a Teeth problem that chins could have, its not common, but it does happen. Its where the teeth are not wearing down properly and their teeth are growing in to their sinus and lower jaw, this is very painful. Signs are watery eyes, drooling from the month, not eating, little pieces of feed left behind (though this is not always a sign, I have chins that will pick up a piece of food, smell it take a bite and then drop it) weight lose. Sometimes this is past down from family, or poor diet. If you see any signs of this, take your chinchilla to the Vet.

Cause that lead to teeth problems: # 1 being the most working down to 6. Heredity

Diet
Accidents
Sickness
Heavy Littering
Improper Baby Care
Heredity

Diet for chinchilla lifespan:

It is important to keep you Chin on a maintained well balanced diet, Good quality Feed, Hay, Water. proper nutrient of A, D plus Calcium and trace minerals, but its important to have this in the proper amounts. Some Breeders and Ranchers, will supplement their Chins with grains, and Vitamins that contain these property’s. You always want your chin(s) have a nice yellow to dark orange yellow front teeth, if your chins teeth get very light yellow or white, they are have a Calcium, A, D, Mineral defiance, Some people will give Tums, or Calcium supplement. Cut out a lot of treats, no more than 2 times a week of a a soft treat for chinchilla lifespan, like dried cranberries. I dont give Raisins, do to they are very high in sugar. It will stick to their teeth and my cause cavities.

Accidents:

This may be cause by a fall from your hands, cage door, being on furniture thats to high, and hitting, their month on the floor. Or getting their teeth caught in the wire of cage for chinchilla lifespan. When you are holding your chin, make sure you have a good grip on the base of their tail so they cant up out of your arms, when having the cage door open make sure you are right there with your chin if the cage is up high. Always keep a good eye on your chin when they are running about for free time, so they don’t chew on things that they should’nt or get up on furniture and jump off and hit their months.

Sickness:

Chinchillas teeth are always growing for chinchilla lifespan, they can grow form 8 to 12 inches a year. When a chin is sick and they are not eating or chewing on items. the teeth will continue to grow, and even make more difficult for your chin to eat. It does take time for this to happen. Check your chins front often, to make sure they are not over growing for chinchilla lifespan, though its very hard to check the back teeth, and a vet can only do this.

Teeth Problems (Malocclusion), is very painful, the bottom molars well grow into the bottom jaw, the top will grow into the upper jaw and sinus, eye socket, brain for chinchilla lifespan. If you have a chin that is having teeth problems, its a very sad heart breaking and very expensive to have their teeth grind down, you must have this done about every 3 to 4 weeks, its very painful for chin to have this done. Its a important decision that you need to make, in either keep your chin alive in pain, or putting them to sleep and putting them out of pain, You may love your chin very much, but remember this very painful on chins, think when you have a tooth ache or sinus head ache and times that by 100.

Signs of teeth Problems: Color, Weepy eyes, Fur in teeth, Spaces between teeth, Chin is getting thin and Slobbering, wet paws, their fur looking really ragged, and the chin not eating well.

Illness and signs for chinchilla lifespan:

Enteritis – Loss of appetite, Teeth grinding ( sign of being in Pain), bloat, diarrhea, lethargy (not moving)
Pasteurella - Sneezing, may have some nasal discharge, (clear, white, green), eye discharge (clear, white, green), respiratory problems.
Liver – Weight loss, hunchback, very dark urine, almost brown,. ( this can be caused by improper diet, to many treats)
Giardia – Bad smelling diarrhea, Large wet poops that are covered in mucous, decreased activity, increased appetite,
Coccidiosis – Diarrhea, increased appetite, with weight loss, lethargy, dehydration,
Cryptosporidia - blood in poops, diarrhea, weight loss.

All of these can be prevented for chinchilla lifespan, by clean environment that your chinchilla lives in, clean bedding, clean house’s, shelfs, wall of the cage,. Keep your hand sanitized, any one else touching your chin should have clean hands. Feed should be kept in a clean container, hay should be kept dry clean, bug and rodent free, water bottles should be cleaned at least 3 times a weeks, and at least once a week cleaned with Bleach water, (rinse completely clean of bleach), feeder and bowls, should be cleaned the same way at least once a week for chinchilla lifespan. If your chinchilla comes down with any type of illness, take the cage out side, and spray down with 40% bleach to water, Lysol concentrate ( its a dark red color) 30% Lysol to water. Spray on and let sit for 30 minutes, then rinse throughly. The same with feeder or water bottles.

Use only Purified water, or bottle water for chinchilla lifespan. Well and city water can contain many unlikeable things in it, pesticides, fluoride, Parasites, ecol, lead, copper, mercury, cryptosporidium, Giardia, asbestos, benzene, and many other chemicals in the water.

Items to have on Hand for chinchilla lifespan:

Keep a written or mental diary on your chinchilla for chinchilla lifespan. I do this with all my chins, even the baby’s, so when you do see something change or not normal for your chin, you will know to watch them to see if they are coming down with a illness, digestive, teeth, and so forth. (Chinchillas are very good at hiding illness, so its best to nip it in the bud when you first notice something going on). Critical Care – you can get this at your Vets for chinchilla lifespan, this is used when your Chin is not eating and sick, you mix with water or Cranberry juice or honey and water. If your chin is sick or not eating, give 3 cc or mls, in a syringe every 2 to 3 hours. You can all so grind up my Health Mix to a fine powder and mix the same as Critical Care. Dyne – this is a high fat care. You can give with Critical Care, or in water, or juice or straight up. You would use a syringe for chinchilla lifespan. when your chin is loosing weight, give 1 teaspoon 2 times a day, or put 1 tablespoon in 8 oz of water. You can get this at chinchilla lifespan.

Syringes- you can also get these at Jeffie’s livestock or Tractor Supply, get the ones that have a tip at the end. Not the ones with a hub,.
Probiotics- (Acidophilus) this maintains the good flora in your chins digestive track. give 1/2 teaspoon once a week on a normal basics, when sick or on meds, give 1/8 teaspoon daily, when giving meds, and 1 week after meds.

Fugues Powder – you can use Tinactin or Destine Foot powder, use 1 teaspoon, every pound of dust bath. year around.
Q-tips
Kao-Pectin – for Diarrhea, you can get this at any pet store.
Activated Charcoal- you can get this from a health food store. some chins will eat this start up, this helps with Diarrhea, and toxins in the system
Betadine and or Peroxide – to clean cuts.
Saline – to wash wounds and eyes.
Triple Antibiotic Ointment – for cuts or scraps.
Bag Balm – use for nursing moms, when nipples are sore and red. Rub on 2 times a day. Use on dry feet.

Rhue Fennel – This is used for eye discharge. you can get this at the Health Food stores, 3 drops in 2 tablespoons of Distilled water, mix and use a dropper. 2 drops in eyes, 3 times a day, for 3 days then 2 times a day for 4 days, then 1 times a day for 1 week, even if their eyes look better, continue the drops.

They are normally small longer than round for chinchilla lifespan. Soft like a sponge. They wont smash when stepped on and Lots, Lots of Them. If you notice that dropping are getting wet or when stepped on they smash, take away all feed, give lost of hay and water, Give shredded Wheat (no frosting) or very Brunt toast, 3 times a day for 2 to 3 days or until it clears up. Plus give Acidophilus, This will put the good Flora back in to their Gut. You can get this at a Health food store, it comes in Powder or wafer form. If you give the powder, give 1/4 teaspoon, every day for 4 days. For chinchilla lifespan you can put this on the toast or shredded wheat. If this continues for many days, call your vet and have them test the drooping for any bacteria growing which could be Giardia or Coccidia these are types of Parasites, the Vet will have to do a poop test to see if there is any Parasites. If there is, your Chinchilla will have to go on Medications to treat this. Make sure your chinchilla is getting plenty of fluids, you can use a electrolyte mix that you can get from a Grain and Feed store, Tractor Supplies. or you can try Pedilyte, I have found that the Electrolyte mixes work the best. they come in a little packet and you would mix 1 teaspoon to 8 oz Purified water, change every other day. Give your chin plenty of hay to eat for chinchilla lifespan. Take way all feed, For a couple days, and just feed hay, this will get the fiber back in to their system. Any time that your Chinchilla is on medications, give Acidophilus, to keep and put back the good flora in their digestive system.

If you notice very hard and small poops, increase hay, fiber, water, with Electrolyte in it for chinchilla lifespan. Give about 1 teaspoon of flax seed with 1 teaspoon of Psyllium Seed Husk ( you can get this from the health food store) it comes in a herb form. 1/2 teaspoon of Peppermint leafs, mix these together and give 1/2 teaspoon 2 times a day, for 2 days, place in a feed dish or right on the wood shelf. If they don’t go back to normal with in a couple days or your chin stops pooping, take them to the Vet they may have blockage, they will have to do a X-ray to see this for chinchilla lifespan. Do not wait or put off if your chin stops pooping, when you notice this get them right to the vet, once your chin stops pooping, their digestive systems will start to shut down, and once a chinchillas systems shuts down sometimes its hard to get it going again, and they will start to get a blockage of poop or increase the blockage if there is one. Your chin will start to get Bloat, this is very dangerous to your chinchilla, and sadly to say its a very good chance your chinchilla will pass away from this. Signs of Bloats, is not eating, drinking, stretching with their back feet out behind them almost like dragging them, dragging their belly, grinding their teeth, (this is sign of dealing with pain), and you will notice that they will start to look like a ball shape, and that is a very dangerous sign when you see them looking like a ball. This means that all the fluid and fecal matter is building up and starting to ferment in them, and at this point death is a 90% possibility. So its very important that if your chins poop doesn’t go back to normal with in a couple days or your chin stops pooping, get them to the Vet Immedityly….

Feed your chinchilla the best chinchilla food you can get. The chinchilla food from pet stores is not very good. they use poor ingredients, and do not have the proper nutrients in it. If you do get chinchilla food from the pet store, use Mazuri. If you get your Chinchilla from a breeder, its best to buy extra and keep you chin on the same chinchilla food. Changing feed can upset the digestive system, and cause wet poops. Most breeder will sell you chinchilla food on a regular bases. Do not use a bowl for feed either, since chins like to sit in it and they may pee and poop in it and contaminate the feed. Keep chinchilla food in air tight container, in a dry cool place. I free feed my chinchillas, which means, I fill their feeders so they always have chinchilla food. I use Hubbards Traditions feed, I all so recommend Maurzi, Oxbow, and Purina Advanced Nutrition Rabbit feed, this you can get at Grain and Feed stores that sell farm and Horse supplies.

Hay, I keep loose timothy hay or a Mix hay, plus timothy/alfalfa cubes in their cages at all time. The loose hay, works on the back teeth and the cubes work on the front teeth. Its very important that your chinchilla has chinchilla food and water at all times. I clean up hay from the night before, and give them fresh loose hay every day. They may pee on the hay and you don’t want them to eat it. If you smell a mustiness to the hay, or if it feels hot or wet, throw it away, its growing mold, which is very bad for chinchillas and makes them very sick and even cause death. You may be able to get chinchilla food and cubes from the breeder or online and some times the pet stores. I all so sell both loose and cubes. Once in a while I will give my chins Alfalfa hay, as a treat, and to my moms and baby’s. Store hay in a dry cool place, paper bags with small holes in works very well.

Used Filtered or bottled water, No tap water, there many be to many chemicals in it, that your unaware of, if your on a well all so. If you don’t drink it, don’t expect your chinchilla to. If they don’t like the taste they wont drink it. and this can cause them to get dehydrated and up set their digestive system. Change water every to every other day. Clean water bottles 2 to 3 times a week in dishwasher or with bleach water, to sanitize. In their native habitat, chinchillas live in burrows or crevices in rocks. According to official chinchilla facts, they are agile, jumping up to 5 feet high. Predators in the wild include Hawks, Skunks, Canines, Owls.

In Nature, Chinchillas live in colonies. Females chinchillas are significantly bigger than the male. Average weight is 500 to 900 grams, males are 450 to 800 grams, Females normally don’t get put into breeding until they are 8 months or older. According to official chinchilla facts, they can breed any time of the year, but mostly fall and spring. Summer may show to be to hot to be pregnant. Females estrus goes every 25 to 31 days, lasting 2 to 3 days. Gestation is 107 to 113 days, normally they are right on at 111 days, most births will happen very early in the morning. According to official chinchilla facts – they have a long gestation, thus being, kits are born with their eyes open, fully furred, with in days of birth they are jumping around, eating hay, then feed, and water, moms will start weaning kits about 6 to 8 weeks. Litters can be from 1 to 7 kits, though 7 is very rare. Normally they will have any where from 1 to 3 kits. When a chinchilla miscarries, the fetus is frequently absorbed back into the mothers body. Most of the time you wouldn’t even know that she was pregnant. Signs of a Chinchilla Being Pregnant, they will start to sleep more, eat more, and in the last month to last weeks, they will start to lay on their side, start to look larger. According to official chinchilla facts, most of the time you really don’t know they are pregnant until the last weeks, if they are having 2 or more kits, if they are having 1 kit you may not know at all. There has been times where I didn’t even know when one of my girls was, until I had a little surprise in the morning. If you think your chinchilla is pregnant don’t lift or hold or take her out of the cage, unless necessary, this may cause them to miscarriage.

According to official chinchilla facts, there are several types of Chinchillas, there is the Brevicaudata (short-tailed chinchilla) Areas where the Brevicaudata, includes the Andes, of southern Peru, Bolivia, northwestern Argentina, and northern Chile. They are found in mountain shrubs and grassland areas at elevations between 3000 and 4500. According to official chinchilla facts, they live in dens in rocks crevices. The Brevicaudata body length is 12-13 inches and the tail is about 5-6 inches.

According to official chinchilla facts, then there is the Lanigera, They are currently in the mountains of northern Chile. They are found in the barren, arid areas of mountains at elevations of 3,000 to 5,000 meters. They live in crevices and holes among the rocks. Body length is about 9 to 13 inches, their tails can be 7 to 10 inches.

According to official chinchilla facts, Costina is smaller than the Lanigera, they are found in the lower elevations.

Most of our Chinchillas today are the Lanigera type. As Mathias F. Chapman, was searching for the chinchillas, most of the Costina had already been trapped, and their fur used for coats, over 400,000 were trapped and killed for their fur, over period of a couple years, though they had been trapping chinchillas since the 1500′s for it fur. M.F. Chapman, Acquired only 11 Chinchillas, not knowing how many were Costina or Lanigera Type. According to official chinchilla facts, out of those 11 chinchillas, only 3 were females. 1919 is when M.F. Chapman started his hut for chinchillas, and by 1923 he was able to bring them to the U.S. They traveled by a coastal steamer, From Callao to San Pedro, California. During the trip one chinchilla had died and another had 2 babies. Mr. Chapman had built the First Chinchilla ranch in the high desert area of Tehachapi, California. According to official chinchilla facts, it took many years of trial and error to get the right living conditions for the chinchillas to live and thrive and multiply. One of the original 11 Chinchillas lived to be about 22 years old, though his exact age is unknown since he was born in the wild. According to official chinchilla facts, South America, Ande Mountains are along the west coastal side of the country, where it is all tan is the mountains.
